The Goodness Exchange: Why Doing Good Starts with Feeling Good

The Goodness Exchange: Why Doing Good Starts with Feeling Good

What does kindness look like to you? If you’re a traditionalist, it might be putting the kettle on. If you’re a bit more plugged-in, it could be a well-timed text or an encouraging word online.

At For Goodness Shakes, we wanted to find out exactly how the UK views kindness today. So, we commissioned a comprehensive nationwide study of 2,000 adults. The goal? To dig into what makes us tick, what holds us back, and how the simple act of taking care of our bodies creates a ripple effect of positive energy out in the world.

Our findings inspired The Goodness Exchange: a campaign designed to prove that looking after yourself and looking after others are two sides of the same coin.

What Makes a "Good Deed" in the UK?

Our research revealed that the classic British response to adversity, making a warm brew, still reigns supreme. Over half of Brits (52%) agree that making someone a cup of tea remains the ultimate act of kindness

No matter the style, food and nourishment remain a universal language of care, with 52% of all adults agreeing that cooking a meal for someone else is a deeply meaningful gesture.

Fuelled to Show Up for Others

This is where our philosophy at For Goodness Shakes comes full circle: doing good starts with feeling good.

When you take care of your body, get enough sleep, and fuel yourself with high-quality, nutritious ingredients, you build a strong foundation. Our protein shakes are designed to deliver clean, convenient nutrition that keeps you physically and mentally at your best.

Our data showed that feeling good within yourself makes you more approachable  and leads directly to more positive interactions with the world around you. Simply put: when your body is fully fuelled and you feel great, you are in a much better position to show up, step in, and share that energy with others.

So grab a shake, fuel your day, and let’s keep the exchange going.
